I would think there would be at least a neighborhood WM. But nothing. Strange.

no, not strange; there isn't enough traffic so we are told. There is one in Jane, Mo which is only a mile from the border and there has been talk for ages about putting one on 279, but there Walmart has to be sure it would be successful and yet not take too much business away from the Jane store. At one time Walmart had planned on putting one right across the highway from Allen's. Long story, it didn't happen.

New businesses and Bella Vista are just becoming good friends, we seem to be getting something new every few months.

A super Walmart wouldn't fit in Bella Vista and my goodness does it take all of 10 minutes to get to Jane? I personally wished Bella Vista had less because we thought of retiring there but there is too much traffic. We live on a rural ranch so traffic is non existent at present so I do realize I have to have traffic if I move but stop and go isn't our thing. I thought they were connecting with MO up by Granite. What happened? That would have make Bella Vista back to the retirement community it was suppose to be.

As others have said, the Bella Vista supercenter is actually just across the state line in Jane.

Bella Vista has limited areas where commercial development is allowed. There isn't much commercially zoned property in the city in comparison to its population.

debbie, I don't think it will ever return to a retirement community and I am not sure I would want that. As for the by pass; it is great for those of us who live in the Highlands area. We can now take it to Bentonville and south, missing all the 71 traffic, but it stops near the Highlands. MO ran out of money to complete the part that they were supposed to be responsible for. Right now there is a movement to get a federal grant to complete it clear into MO.
