Good points, people. Yes, the distance to Tulsa airport is a big negative. I'm only 20 min to a large airport right now.

XNA in Bentonville can be comparatively really expensive but sometimes not, just depends on the flight. It's always a close option though.

Probably out number 1 gripe is trying to get a price out of XNA that is doable. We have tried driving to Tulsa a couple of times but often that leads to staying a night in an airport hotel which defeats the purpose.

Re: XNA. Why doesn't Allegiant start offering more flights from there? Seems a no brainer. If I'm not mistaken, they only fly to Las Vegas from XNA.

I just flew out of XNA and to me the convenience is well worth the added cost. I don't fly that often so when factored in to a yearly budget, not that big of deal.

oh no, they fly to Fl, LOS Vegas, LAX, and some others. The problem is, they have a very few flights but do offer good prices and several choices. Certainly they are not AA or United, but for what they have if the timing works out you can fly for less. The rumor also is, since they are enlarging the parking they will also add more air lines But that is just rumor at this time.

I've been here almost 5 years and was saying to my wife that we probably couldn't afford to buy our current house if we were looking today.

Although bentonville is already overpriced, you can still find affordable housing further out like pea ridge, centerton, and points south in the more rural areas.

Zillow publishes their accuracy if their ‘zestimates’ in various markets. I haven’t looked at the NWA accuracy, but I know it’s pretty inaccurate in the KC metro area. It’s quite accurate, however, in Denver metro. I think they just run more data in certain markets.

Somewhat related to upthread discussion, does anyone know how easy it is to open-enroll kids in public school districts outside of their zoned district? If we bought outside of Fayetteville, what are our chances of enrolling our kids in Fayetteville schools? It’s fairly common/easy where I live now, and it’s also pretty easy to open-enroll kids in a school outside of your home school within the same district, but I don’t know about out there. Obviously we’d be on the hook for transportation, etc.
