I had heard awhile back that there was a lot of work there. How is it now for blue collar jobs, with the bad economy? We were there last Feb. & really liked the area. Had planned on moving out there in a few months, but really concerned with the job situation. Any new industry coming in that you know of? My husband is a forklift driver/ warehouse/distribution, etc. Anyone know how that work may be at this time.
I'm in the medical field/clerical.
Do you have sales tax on groceries? I think your sales tax is 9%, right? So if you buy something expensive, like a car, do you pay less sales tax or still 9%?
Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

There's a new, large Target opening in Rogers in early 2009, they wil probably need warehouse people. Walmart HQ also employs lots of warehouse people, my BIL works there.

I don't think either of you would have a hard time finding work in your fields, as there are plenty warehouses and medical offices in the NWA area. The sales tax on cars in lower, I am thinking around 4%?? Someone else may be able to better varify that. Good luck, I am sure you will love it here!

Thanks for the help! I do think we would love it there. Couple more questions, do the roads get much ice in the winter where it's a problem to drive?
Do you have vehicle emission checks?

No emissions checks and very little snow or ice, if any.

Hope everybody has a spread lined up.

Holidays are always............intriguing out here.

You know you're going to have turkey.

You know you're going to have venison.

You know it's going to be intermingled with wild onion and wild garlic.............

The rest of the dishes carried in.................?

Man, it's like base jumping.

Take a deep breath and pick up a plate.
