Rumor, Trader Joes may be coming to Texas in the next 3 years or so, if they build a warehouse there we stand a chance of getting one here. This is just from the people who work at Trader Joes in NM, nothing set in stone, darn it. And yes, you are right, we can all find those little out of the way specialty stores if we look hard enough, but there is nothing like T Joes.

It's great for raising a family and being able to afford land, and the people are very warm and friendly. We're always getting new restaurants, shopping and opportunities all over the place. Because of all the growth it's really kind of the lesser of all evils in terms of the down turn. I have a bunch of friends that work at Wal-Mart and the good ole' boy system has long since died, so I wouldn't worry about that. I'd check it out this spring, March or April, when Jersey is still in the dead of winter and Arkansas has redbud trees in bloom, it'll be no contest

I'd love to be able to make a visit in Spring, 2010, just to show my husband where I'm moving his Jersey butt to! We'll see. We cannot wait to get out of this State.

And, I like to hear that there's lots of growth there in AR, being as my husband is an electrician who will be looking for companies involved with commercial/industrical and residential construction.

I'm not familiar with T Joes. There are a few around here, I believe. Is that a liquor store?

well, liquor is one of the things they sell, but certainly not the only thing. They started out in Pasadena Ca I think in the 1950s if I remember right. At that time, yes they were mostly a liquor and wine store, but they now are a specialty store which sells organic produce, great meats, seasonings and lots of specialty party type of products. One of my favorites is a blue cheese/pecan spread. They also have a huge selection of top quality cheeses, crackers and the best bread in the world. Well maybe not as good as you guys get on the east coast, but darn good. When we go to NM we always stock up on wine and whateve else we can get home. Just a few weeks ago we brought back some of the cheese spread, 3 loaves of bread, wine, and 6 artichokes plus white balsonic vinegar and some sessami (spelling) seed oil.
