Freud died in 2011. He was active until shortly before his death.

Absolutely love Chuck Close's work from his early photo realism to his current pieces.
Another painter Patrick Hughes. The video may not give you the exact effect
but it does look as if you are walking past a 3-d scene (you should be at least 6' away).

Stephen Gjertson, Gjertson was president of The American Society of Classical Realism, was a founding member of its Guild of Artists and was editorial advisor of the Classical Realism Journal.

The May 2013 issue of Artnews has as its feature article a review of some highly recognized artists who are not only still living, but still producing. There is a separate review of Philip Pearlstein's latest gallery show.

Yes, and I collect Guy Buffet originals and limited signed prints.

I have a Skye (commissioned when I met her) and a Wessler (met him, too, and he made a nice note on he back of one of his originals for me).
