Anyone out there recognize this background location on one of their classic metal albums?

It's Mapledurham Watermill, in Oxfordshire, England.

It looks far less intimidating in person. Maybe it's because of Ozzie's presence.

It's all the red and black in the album cover than makes it feel intimidating. Without the green, blue and yellow colors of nature in the image, the scene loses all it's naturally soothing pastoral elements.

Of course, Ozzie helps, but only if the viewer knows who he is. Any person would work in the image with the right pose and costume.
