Minimum tank size for African cichlids (small, types, aquarium, aggressive)

I have a 65 gallon aquarium and have been thinking about getting a few African cichlids. Is that too small for cichlids that are on the smaller end?

a 65 would look great, African cichlids tend to be one of the types of fish who do better a little bit overstocked...provide LOTS of rockwork and nooks and crannies for territory!

I tend to go nothing less than 55 for "aggressive" species.
