Hello. I am hoping for a call for an interview in Flagstaff. I live in North Scottsdale. If i get the job, I will need to find a cheap place to sleep and shower for 2 weeks to a month. I don't have the money to move yet, and will have to wait until one or two checks to do so. Anyone know of a campground with shower? Affordable extended stay? Best I found was $89 a night! KOA?

I really hate the idea of driving up every day for a month. It's 140 miles...4 hours drive every day!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I just emailed the KOA in Flagstaff. Any other info would be great. Thanks.

please don't plan to make that drive every day...that would be miserable....

have you tried places like Extended Stay America, MainStay, Studio 6, and the other many brands of extended-stay motels/hotels?...weekly/monthly rates may be good and you could try to negotiate.....

google something like "long stay hotel motel flagstaff" and see what comes up.....

the expensive season in Flag runs thru Sept or so, so maybe the job won't start until after then.....also, football weekends will be expensive and crowded in Flag....also, you could try Williams and Winslow for cheapie places, each about 40 miles away.....

the very nice Little America truck stop has private showers for $10 or so, as do other larger truck stops along I-40 in town....when camping or hiking, I often get a truck stop shower and I can shave, shower, etc. in my own private bathroom and really get cleaned up for much less than a motel room.....

there are certainly KOA-like places in Flag, but they could be noisy, not a bargain, very crowded....Black Bart campground is an old standby in Flag near Little America.....primitive car-camping allowed in most of the Forest Service land around Flag......

When our son was going to NAU we used to stay at the Hotel Aspen. They had very reasonable rates; the hotel was not the classiest in town but they also had some arrangement where they served appetizers (or a meal) that kept the expense down (some of the rooms had a jacuzzi!!)
