It's been thirty-something days since the last snowfall, and we appear to be heading towards some kind of record. Admittedly, I sure don't miss shovelling the stuff or driving on a snow-and-ice encrusted freeway, but we do need the snow for the water table.

Thoughts on when the next snow will arrive? The weather forecast seems to indicate sunny conditions into the foreseeable future.

I don't think any of us are going to have any more idea of when the next snow will be than the forecasters who do it for a living.

Very weird weather up here. That is for sure. I moved up this way in August of last year. Was actually looking forward to the snow. We were having a couple good snows there for awhile, and then it just stopped. It was a tad bit chilly yesterday, but this of course wasn't during the day. I know the locals I talk to here are worried about more dry conditions come this summer. When I first got here the monsoons were active for like the first three weeks I was up, and they were saying that rain was some of the most they've gotten.

Ask the folks on the East Coast about that global warming scam! LOL
Count me as one of the Flagstaff residents that's LOVING this winter! I'll take warm sunshine and dry weather in January every year.

Before I moved to Arizona , while reading a Prescott vs Flagstaff thread, I remember reading someone saying that if Flagstaff does not get enough snow, they will "shut the forest down" in the spring/ summer. Is this true? By shut the forest down what would they mean? Limited access? Or is this misinformation ?

if the winter is extremely dry, some public lands (national forests, among other jurisdictions) may be closed to all entry by May or June...or strong restrictions may be put in place, such as no open fires, no smoking, etc....this unusual move happens every several years and lasts a few weeks until the summer rains start up in early July
