I enjoy camping in Valle on some acreage but every once in awhile I feel like a sit down dinner. Grand Canyon Inn in Valle closes between 3-6PM daily between lunch and dinner. Red Raven in Williams is 2-5PM. I don't know, if I ran a restaurant I'd damn sure keep it open during what I consider prime eating hours from 2-6PM. Why flush money down the drain ? Red Raven is the goofiest. Open like 11-2 for lunch and 5-9 for dinner daily. Is there a problem with multitasking ? Do employees need a daily nap? Maybe someone can explain what the benefit of this is for such restaurants.

Apparently nobody eats at those times, so they can use the same staff on a split shift. I'm just guessing.

I eat a lot at a deli near home, they are busy from morning until 1:30 pm, then their business shuts off. I come about 2:30 and nobody there, so they close at 3.

I used to have land in Valle , they do what they want up there, no bills and plenty of tourism gives
them all the Cash they need. They aren't greedy up there, if they can eat and buy bullets they are happy.
Business in Valle is just some locals paying bills, no ones trying to get rich up there lol

I've never noticed that. And have lived in the area for years. Maybe they see YOU coming and flip the sign to closed!

I've never heard of the Red Raven! Where's that at? Most of the local restaurants are kinda pricey and aimed at tourist. So we don't eat out much. I do miss the Dennys closing down. Years back, I liked the Parker house.
The wife cooks real home made food! It amazes neighbor kids who have never seen this done in their home.I see their folks loading their shopping cart with boxed food and cases of soda, at Safeway. Almost makes me ill just thinking about it.
Sorry the local restaurants don't want you coming in. (Just joking)

I think the Denny's was about the cheapest place to eat in Williams, and it was the only Denny's I've been in that had a sports bar.

Dennys is closed and is now Kicks66. I hear it's a sports bar.

Ultimately business decisions are often not made out of the blue. I've noticed the 2-5 or 3-6 gap in other areas too. You and I might be hungry then, but I guess the locals and the tourist generally aren't, which is a bummer. I'm sure more restaurants would stay open then if they could at least cover their cost for those hours.

Closing between lunch and dinner is common for smaller, non-chain restaurants. I've seen it here where I am and in larger cities as well.
