Also FYI, not sure if the road work is complete, but 89A from Sedona to Flagstaff was being completely torn up a few months ago. A major project and we were traveling on a temporary dirt road that was fine but if a few rains hit might actually start being a problem. Check the road conditions before going that way. It could be done by now just not sure.

It's not completed. I drove it last week.

The work is being done north of the Vista Point overlook, so from Sedona to there is fine. The construction zone is closed at night.

I just returned from 3 days camping in the Canyon at Pine Flat. Road to that point is fine. Trees are just starting to turn.
