Hey kdog, I could hook you up with him!

To the OP it sounds like sour grapes. You'll find those problems no matter where you look. Property has held it's value in Page and it's a desirable area.

although that does happen in some locales- I know police officers who have been arrested for drunk driving, ticketed for speed, some locales think that police officers should set a higher standard.

Default Corruption--coming to a city near you

Corruption/Nepotism is the hallmark of the third world.

As we keep slipping from our first world status, corruption/nepotism will increase correspondingly in this country, reverting back to the days of rampant corruption in our own country.

As states grapple with growing budget deficits, it's only going to get worse.
Or better, in some people's eyes.

I never worry about getting stopped by the police in Mexico. Generally, you slip them a $20 bill, step on the gas, and you're free!

Budget cuts in the shape of cutting the pay of police officers in this country could bring this about.

As a visitor in Page, Arizona I never really saw all of the problems that surround this city. After living in Page, Arizona the corruption and problems in Page, Arizona really started to bother me. Here are the things that bothered me about Page, Arizona.

Page Police Department - This is the most corrupt Police Department in the USA without a doubt. These guys will let their buddies drive around the town drunk yet will attack native americans for drinking a soda pop in their vehicle. There is a big big problem in Page, Arizona with drunk driving. If you are a family member or friend of a police officer then you are free to drive drunk in this city. Also if you are a friend or family member of a police officer in this town you are free to break laws. The police department will simply look the other way.

Page School District - The school district is a joke and nepotism pretty much runs everything in the school district. Facilities are kept up well but the majority of the administrators and teachers are incompetent.

City Council - Spend more time sweeping things under the rug than trying to improve the city.

Lake Powell Chronicle- Only prints items that shows the city in a positive light. The members of the paper need to work on being more honest.
Maybe you could move back to Deming, New Mexico? Nah they're probably no different, with the exception of hasseling soda pop drinking driving Mexicans instead of Native Americans.

I will agree completely with this and would like to add that since moving to Page in 2003, it has gotten worse than one can imagine. When we have a police force that protects the criminals, the citizens are not safe in their own back yards. And don't even think about taking the kids to the public park. That seems to be the where so much of the crime happens. Still hoping someday this will change!
