Hi all,

I wonder if I could ask a little advice?

My partner and I currently live in beautiful Roma, Italy (having moved here from Barcelona nearly a year ago and before this we were based in London.)

My partners company are considering a relocation to the US and Florida seems to score points for business reasons.

I've been to Florida a couple of times, my partner only once, but we're dab hands at the expat thing now and looking forward to another challenge.

We really are just after some advice as to where to base ourselves. I'm of the understanding the business will be based wherever we feel happiest to settle.

So down to the personal stuff, well we're a gay couple, late 20s, with 3 dogs - so we would be looking to rent a goodish sized house (3+ beds) with fairly easy access to some nightlife (would be nice to have some gay bars nearby but not essential), safe neighbourhood and near a major airport. Uh, really that's our checklist! (I can't think of anything else that should be important )

Tampa seems to be a good option. What are your opinions though, are there any other places we should check out in Florida?

If you think Tampa is our best bet, which particular neighbourhoods of Tampa would you recommend for us?

I realise so many of these type questions are posed a day, so in return if anybody needs any Rome advice/information I would be happy to oblige

Edit to add: We have looked at Miami, but it looks seriously seriously expensive, unless there are nice neighbourhoods near to Miami in which you can rent a house for around $2000 pm and reasonably priced office space?
