Post Sickness Strikes Multiple Hospital Workers

Not good if this get out of control in central Florida.... Be careful

Nearly 20 Florida Hospital Winter Park employees have become ill over the past week, and health officials said they are not sure what has caused the sickness. Starting last week, Orange County Health Department officials said about 17 people have shown similar symptoms, including nausea and diarrhea, and test results are pending. Although the symptoms are Norwalk virus-like, officials said they cannot positively identify the cause until the lab results are returned.

People can become infected with noroviruses in several ways, including eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus; touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus, and then placing their hand in their mouth and having direct contact with another person who is infected and showing symptoms.

Noroviruses are easy to avoid. Just wash your hands before you eat, dont put you fingers in your mouth, and wash your hands after you use the john. Most of the time the "Stomach flu" is a norovirus or a related stomach virus. Stomach viruses are not spread through the air, so that is not a worry at all!
