Floridabound, you will follow that plate some day, and you will love your new home in this tropical oasis.
I still remember, 30 years ago, seeing the north in my rearview mirror for the last time, the only time that place ever looked good - was when it was disappearing behind me.
Don't overlook the Tampa/St. Pete area - parts of it have a climate similar to W. Broward - and you will find many from Ohio living here.
Sunrico - those pictures of Navarre! What a beautiful place! That part of FL is about the only area of the state I've never seen, and I'm overdue for a trip up there. Thank you for posting them.
On license plates: does anyone remember the FL plates for the front of the car? No number, it was just a decoration - but it said "Arrive Alive" and was seen a lot in the 70's. Wish I'd hung onto one of those.

[quote=Floridabound09;935189]Darn you Melissa, you spoiled my thought with this, I was going to put the freezing rain photo from last winter on here, you beat me to it. Oh well.... a definite advantage beyond comparison I think.
Oceandreams, would you stay for just one more winter, your going to miss the white stuff. Come on
HAHA! No way! The ice storm last winter andthe blizzard that followed was more than enough to last us a lifetime!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post that.....
I am with you on that feeling, never looking back on a whole new way of life.
I understand I will have to trade the good for the bad and visa versa, but like you said, it never looed so good being behind you.
My wife has it all down, she said "if it is not what we want, we can move around until we find what we want, we have worked hard all our lives and its time to enjoy it a bit" Her mom and dad ran there own business for 40+ years she grew up working in their business and grew up working from morning to night almost all her life. Now is is a mom only and a heck of one too and deserves only the best, and I will find a way to make sure she gets it.
Thank you..........
What town are you living in suncoaster?
Jen, just kidding, bet your getting more excited as time is getting close... We wish you well, please be careful, take your time and let us know when you are HOME..........

Actually, no one in NC pays attention to SEC sports because all of the teams here are ACC. I had many congratulations from die hard NCSU and UNC fans for both of our championships - no bad blood there. So, yes, you might get some flack for sporting an FSU plate (which they don't offer, by the way), but not UF. I had my Florida UF plate on the car for the first few months, and I have a Florida Alumni plate frame on my vehicle and haven't had a problem. Didn't get the UF plate because I didn't know about it at the time I registered. Maybe next time.
