Hi, I am a Southern Belle who is looking back to the Deep South for jobs....mostly coastal jobs because I am a Marine Scientist. I would like to move to a city that is still very Southern, in which I can choose from a good number of large Baptist churches. But I would also like a city that has a lot of young single professionals. What parts of the Florida panhandle should I avoid?

In terms of professional jobs in general, if you don't need to be right on the beach, your best bet is probably Tallahassee. If you've got the right high tech skills, then Ft. Walton Beach. Panama City has a handful of of professional jobs, but is largely tourism & retail.

I want to meet a Southern guy who is white collar like me. I feel like Savannah is a bit nicer than anything you might find on the panhandle, while still retaining that "southern" ness you are looking for.
