who cares about some economists' definition. They didn't even call the beginning of the recession until a year later in Dec 2008. Plus GDP numbers can easily be manipulated by things like government spending (aka the stimulus).

What people care about is JOBS and HOUSING PRICES, both of which have been tanking since this recession started.

We've had the worst plunge in new housing starts in recorded history this month, and unemployment rate that is expected to remain unchanged at near 10%. That's why analysts's have been calling this the "jobless" recovery

Fine be a Obama hater since I'm sure nothing will satisfy you! Can we get back to the subject at hand?

A private-sector recovery? Jobs? Is it really too much to ask?

It amazes me that people like you are willing to give this guy a free pass nearly half-way through his first-term, when the UE rate has gone nowhere but up since he took office and he spent $1 trillion on his "stimulus" a year ago telling us this wasn't going to happen.

Sure, Crist is using the oil spill to gain political points. To get on McCain's good side, he was ready to open up FL waters for offshore drilling in 2008.

What happens when gas goes to $5/gallon and the BP mess is finally resolved and the leak is capped? Does Crist still keep his newfound position against offshore drilling?

I dont know

The market began to go down the crapper here in 2006 in case you forgot, when the warmonger began spending all of our money(actually before that in 2003) blowing up Iraq, looking for "weapons of mass destruction" that were never found. Then the banks were throwing money left and right, BUSH is the reason we are where we are, how ignorant can someone be, I mean wow, it blows my mind.... The ball was already rolling downhill, Obama is not an effin magician. NO ONE including that old dried up prune who ran against him with that loud mouthed complete IDIOT from Alaska could even fix this. They would have helped it along. GIVE ME A BREAK bud.....

Nope, I am not an Obama lover. I was hoping Hillary got in due to the fact Bill would be right there with her, as far as I am concerned the best president in my lifetime(1970). A free pass, I don't think so, if I were him I would run away screaming from this place.

I didn't vote for Bush, but nice try. Bush had plenty to do with it, but then again so did Clinton with fannie/freddie and all of the deregulation he signed into law.

It doesn't matter who's fault it is. Obama has had a year-and-a-half to prove his agenda and right now, FL unemployment is going nowhere fast, even after he spent $1 trillion a year ago under the guise of stopping unemployment from going above 9%.

The last thing we need to do is to let a wishy-washy guy like Charlie Crist end up in D.C. doing Obama's bidding.

It doesn't matter who's fault it is. YES IT DOES, BUSH IS THE ROOT OF IT ALL. Obama has had a year-and-a-half to prove his agenda and right now, FL unemployment is going nowhere fast, even after he spent $1 trillion a year ago under the guise of stopping unemployment from going above 9%.

Gee it could be because Florida was overrun with complete GREED, now it's paying for allowing it to happen. Good old little brother Jeb was here for that. Oh and to help cheat his idiot brother into office too....
