yes, I am confused, still.

I'm thinking we'll get there this August, and the state says we should register within 10 days of employment, so we would register / get tags/ new licenses by the end of Aug. Then at the end of this Oct, hubby would get new tags again? Or next Oct?

He would get a new sticker this October.

If you register in August and his birthday is in October then he will be issued a sticker that expires 10-(his birthday)-2010, and on his birthday in 3 or so months, He'll have to go pay again.

Look at the bright side, Atleast you don't have inspections to go through twice...

Also. If you regester within 3 months of your birth month in FL, you get the registration until the next year following... I have done that MANY times.

I think that's what we'll do, hopefully we can get there before Aug 14th when our current tags expire, and then we'll each get the 2 year. Thanks for all the info.

Oh... phew.... good. That works. I also noticed you cannot get a driver license until you have proof of an actual Florida address. Haha, we'll be arriving on the 18th of July and I highly doubt we'll have a residence by July 28.

Either way, I am not registering my car until August since that is 3 months away from my B-Day. And for sure, I will be purchasing the 2 year tabs. We have 2 year tabs available here, its the only way to go.

Are there DMV Express locations in Florida? ie; places which are partners with the DMV but are not the actual DMV. You can get tags, titles, registrations, etc. at these locations. They add a service fee to the tasks but they tend to be much more friendlier and quicker.

I haven't seen one (doesn't mean they don't exist) When I lived there you had to go to the DMV.

I don't think there are. But there are probably less heavily used offices in every county. I learned long ago to avoid the two main tax collector's offices here in favor of the light volume branch offices where there's never really more than a five minute wait.
