You're right, I haven't. And have no desire to. My dad took us to Miami twice (back to back years) for Spring Break. We stayed at a hotel by a mall with a Burlington (if this narrows the area down any?). We were treated like complete garbage, I remember the INS bus making rounds every 15 mins, and nothing beat waking up every morning, going down for breakfast, and being greeted by all the immigrants waiting to be deported (because the hotel had the INS office on the top floor). I remember the place being filthy, and the people were extremely rude. When I say Miami, I'm not talking about South Beach.

Well then you should probably qualify your answer, no?

If your only experience with a city is a gross ghetto part, then it is not helpful to talk about the entire city as being gross.

Why would your dad book a hotel in a place where he had a bad experience? you said you went there twice. I don't know a single hotel sharing space with other businesses or government offices. Your experience it's not the average hotel experience in Miami. Even Motel 6 and Super 8 have private buildings. INS doesn't make rounds on the streets looking for illegals. NEVER. They go to factories and they do that very rarely, they don't care to catch them, there are plenty of illegals breaking the law and getting arrested to fullfill deportation quotas. if INS wanted to catch them they know where to find them and believe me, illegals are not hanging around INS offices.

1) Avenue D, Fort Pierce
2) Gifford, which is in Indian River County
3)Nebraska Ave, Temple Terrace, Tampa
4) Blue Heron Blvd, West Palm Beach
5) Okeechobee

These are the scariest places I've been to in FL.

Edit above

WPB's worst part, IMO, is down by the railroad/off Australian and N. Sapodilla, North of Banyan and PBL Blvd.

Did you mean to say that Nebraska is in Temple Terrace or that Temple Terrace is one of the ugliest/dirtiest/scariest places you've been?

I'm wondering about that, too. Temple Terrace is a beautiful neighborhood - one of the prettiest, IMO, so don't know what that poster is talking about.

Even Nebraska Ave. has some interesting sections with beautiful old buildings, like in Seminole Heights. It gets really bad though near Sulphur Springs. I think most Busch Blvd. is pretty ghetto, too.

I think Lake, 34th, and 40th are much worse, but out-of-towners would rarely find themselves on those streets.
