I often wondered this.

I know jobs and schools are important to people but I wonder what makes you pick the town you moved to?

Such as close to the beach, family, park, sights, know someone who lives there etc.

( Also, if you are a Florida native and moved from your former home town to another town please let us know what was your home town and why did you pick the town you moved to. )

We're in the general Ft. Walton Beach area for job reasons, and the 'burb we're in because it's close to work and was designed for active people- lots of places to run & bike, and a good swimming pool network.

I moved to the Tampa area for a job. It was a choice between Tampa and Nashville. In some ways I was very tempted by Nashville, but the job here seemed more to be what I was looking for plus I can still see my friends back in Martin County about once a month (about a 3 hour drive). AS far as why I chose to live where I did within the Tampa Bay area, I guess these were the top reasons:

(1) Not in a hurricane evacuation zone

(2) Proximity to work (now I can ride my bike to work)

(3) Established community

(4) No HOA

(5) Got a nice house for the money I spent

Hi Sunny!

Hmmmmm...why did I choose this place?

Lake Erie just didn't do it for me!

I like the Naples/Collier County area a lot! Contrary to popular belief it is not only for retirees but yes I would agree that is is more oriented towards people 40+ than to younger crowds.

Things I like about it:
- Beautiful Beaches (South Marco, Vanderbilt, Naples Pier etc.)
- Low Crime rate in comparison to other areas of Florida
- Mostly warm winters and hot summers
- Very nicely landscaped and set up, so far it is most aesthetically beautiful county I have seen so far
- I have found it to be laid back and for people to be friendly
- Lots of nature (dolphins, manatees, birds, lizards, even the gators I enjoy!)

In the future I would be interested in looking in the Palm Beach/Lauderdale area but Collier County is great in my opinon.

Hi On Da Beach!

There you go again, teasing us with those pictures. Don't you have something better to do then have fun all the time?

How dare you.

And stop making fun of Lake Erie, it is all we got.
