Florida Car Insurance... who has the best rates?
Hey there! I'm coming from NJ where car ins. is outrageous. I'm moving to Ocala in July, and I need help selecting a good car ins. company. Who do you all use, or reccommend?

Liberty Mutual is the cheapest for me and i live 25 minutes from Ocala of course it will vary for each person by their driving record, vehicle model, where you live and so on. I pay $1600 yr for a 2007 Toyota full coverage, 98 grand prix and 86 conquest liability only and these rates are for 2 drivers with clean records. Hope that helps a bit. Now in the past i've had Progressive and The Hartford which were cheaper but every year my rates kept going up for no reason given other than they based my rates on the number of accidents that occur in my area which to me isn't fair as an individual but that's what they said.

I called all around the past couple weeks, since house insurance went up to a ridiculous rate...(i wanted to pull it all away from my insurer.)
Progressive was the least expensive for us. around 1100.00 for two cars per year.

If you are buying a home or renting and getting renters insurance I would see if the insurance company has "mutiple policies" discounts.
We get a very good discount through our insurance company for having our house and cars through them

I would wait till you move there, check a local Allstate agent. I had Geico and several other insurance companies, none of which could get as low as Allstate. I'm sure the rates are even lower in Ocala then South Florida.

We are moving down this weekend and we went with Geico. It was the cheapest for us. We will only be paying 89.00 a month for 2 vehicles. Progessive and Allstate were much higher for some reason.

I was with...
Geico until I did some comparison shopping. Progressive saves me $500. on a six mo. policy and the staff is SO helpful!
In all fairness, Geico was to make rate adjustments so maybe they cleaned up their act. Meantime, I stay with Progressive.

Depends on many things, where you live, your credit rating, car and etc. After No Fault expires in the fall the rates will drop.

I have progressive, had them since 1998, usually the best rate sometimes a few dollars more than Allstate, but I wouldln't insure anything with them.
