I live in Suwannee county,only ins available,Citizen.What good is list if unavailable,my risk on 1-10 maybe 2.Have generator for power outage,had to run it for 4 hours yesterday after a brief shower.I worked hurricane's and ice storm's in Ct,'55,'56 and others

This list has so many things wrong with it. My company is not even listed as well as a few of the companies we write for. Also, as other posters have mentioned, many of these companies are not even writing in Florida or are very, very limited. Southern Fidelity is on the top of many counties list, however, their underwriting process is very strict - don't even ask for a quote if your house is more than 10 years old. Also, the prices they list do not take into account the credit or "tier" score that most companies use that ups your premium based on payment histories (by hundreds sometimes). This site may be very useful for some, however, it should just supplement the research process and not eliminate it.

I agree, I found the example posted fairly useless for my own home or many others in my area.
My insurer was listed, but the rate was way off...I see no correlation in the rates to reality from where I stand.
A simple current listing of insurers who are currently writing in Florida would have been more helpful.
