It's been years since I saw a green one. They've mostly been outted by the more carnivorous cuban species which are brown in color.

The cuban anoles are taking over here too  .
I don't have any anole pics, but I did run into my first Broad-Headed Skink at the beach not long ago......these guys are HUGE!

Here's one of the shots I have of a green anole. There is another one I've been seeing in my yard a lot lately, I need to get some shots of him next time I see him on the scrub palm leaves.

These are so cute!! Are they some type of lizard?? I remember in Louisiana when I was a child there were tons of tiny green lizards. Is this the same type?

More like a kielbasa  !
I was a little scared to get too close...thought he might bite me. They can inflict a bad bite from what I've read.
They sleep in the trees  .

Someone else told me the same thing.
I saw lots of green ones in Port St Joe, but I guess it's more isolated there?
Beautiful pictures--the fat one is indeed a bit intimidating.
