Looks very cheaply constructed. Hard to believe they build mostly stick houses up in the navarre area too. Tells me all I need to know about a builders integrity or lack thereof.

Adams Homes are built to meet occupancy codes & then shotty work is completed on the inside. When we first moved here [Punta Gorda; about 20 mins from North Port] & were thinking of buying, Adams Homes SEEMED liked the best route to go....$1,000 down, closing costs payed with preferred lender, & a lot of sq for the $$...Then, we did our homework & SOOO glad we did. What we found annoyed us & discouraged us; but our preferences are our preferences & I am sure there are many who are pleased with Adams.

We went into 4 new homes & 2 resale homes done by Adams. Every time, we were thoroughly dissapointed. It screams "cheap" when you walk in & a home built by Adams in 2005 is showing its age which is ridiculous. We also don't care for their business practices.

In our opinion, Adams Homes are built quick & with little care or attention to detail inside or with landscaping. We felt ripped off if we'd have gone with Adams.

I know the North Port area very well and have to agree with the above postings. It also explains why these "new" houses are being dumped, they're dogs and skewering the market for good housing. I have seen some good houses built by felson or felsom something like that.

Good luck

Default I heard the same thing.

The houses we've had good results with are: Holiday Builders and Levitt Homes.

Another cheaply built home is Mercedes Builder. At least that's what construction friend said when not picking them to build his home.

So many houses in North Port. Fees outrageous. Buy a resale in a nice golf, gated community where they might hold their values better. Stay away from Adams. Cheap looking and common models will mess up your appraisal when ONE person sells low.

Default Levitt Homes

They are now bankrupt and filed for Chapter 11 in November 2007
Holiday homes are still around and are now Employee Owned.

Laminate flooring-laminate counters. I would have to agree with 121804.

Just to clarify "twinpartners", you are saying that Levitt Homes is now bankrupt not Adams, correct?
