They are running because there are very few jobs, the pay is lousy, schools are lousy and most of the people especially in South Florida are miserable. In addition, insurance is high and property taxes are high. English is a second language.Oala!!!

Most of the South Floridians with anything more than half a brain are moving to Broward County, or further north.

I live in the metro Atlanta area and many people(old people even) are moving from Florida to Georgia because it is cheaper to buy a house in Georgia.

You forgot the homes overvalued 100%, But we are still #1 for something !
The beach community of Naples in Southern Florida was considered the most overvalued, at 102.6 percent of what economists consider fair market value.

Hmmm... I have never thought it was popular... hahaha (Unless you are looking for a 55+ community like The Villages or the less popular, but growing OTOTW) Although we did have a large influx move into the Shores & Marion Oaks areas, but that has slowed to a crawl.

People want better schools, better jobs (I think I put that in my post), and they do have various other personal reasons for leaving... I feel bad for those that do not WANT to leave, but they can not afford to live on low paying jobs (even with a good education). I just do not like losing my neighbors, we have several empty homes around us.

Well, you all have a great day!!! Looks like another perfect one!!!

Losing homes to : FORECLOSURE (Marion County has a HUGE increase in this area of the market).

http://www.foreclosure.com/ Check it out for foreclosures in Florida and in other states. You can see up-to-date info for the US, individual States, Counties, and zip codes. Very interesting information.

Does anyone know if the cost is worth it to sign up for this site to get details? We kind of want to find a deal for our in-laws, but it looks like it cost $10 per WEEK to get this info, and while that may be good for investors, I don't know about just trying to find one house. Any advice?

Hi Dee2e!

I already know about all the foreclosure sites (and the REO & Asset Management companies too)... I also know what you do about the "Business", foreclosures have been a nitch of mine, for many years.

But that is one reason some people are moving... NOT the main reason.

Thanks for the link & enjoy your weekend!!

We have more transplanted south Floridians here in Vero Beach than we do northerners. Course they have NY accents so they were northerners first, then south Floridians, and now they're happy Vero Beach residents.
