Definitely. We lived in Lakeland for a couple years recently, and I really noticed the huge number of Asians.

Even down here in Sarasota/Bradenton I am seeing a whole lot more Asians than when we lived here many years ago. I find it interesting, and consider it a good thing!

As long as we've been here, the Asian population has been visible and growing. It's mostly because of the military- guy meets bride while PCS in Thailand or South Korea or Japan or the Phillipines, and they end up living here once he gets his 20 years in. And then their kids stick around town after graduation, maybe a couple family reunification visas here and there, the odd tech worker gets hired on for rocket science projects, and you end up with a county that actually has a pretty significant Asian population.

They really do make the area a more vibrant and interesting place, and I love the influence they have on the local restaurant scene.

Apparently Indians are the most interested by Florida, in 2009 about 5,000 emigrated there, and after you have the Chineses.
It's great to have more asians in Florida, this state becomes more diversified.

Yeah, Asian Americans are mostly in California but things change : During the last decade an asian pop boom occured in Texas (mostly there), Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Arizona and Virginia.
It's a good thing And Florida has a latino boom too, it's known

I have always noticed plenty of Koreans in the Pensacola area. Maybe it's because of the Navy base.

Actually, in a way, yes and no. Yes, because being a high school student at Boynton Beach High (a majority black school) last year, I can testify to the fact that I saw at least 20 Asians in the school. They were Asians who actually lived in the city and others were exchange students from other countries. Now me being Haitian-american and going to a majority black school, I was almost intimidated and scared because I never went to a school like that. I've always went to diverse high schools. And Boynton is kinda ghetto lol. But then I saw these asians minorites not even scared, hanging out and chilling with the black kids and hispanic kids and not even caring, I was like, hey if they can do it! And I was so surprised they didn't even care! I've always heard Asians were scared of black people so I naturally thought this was the case but no. I love my floridian Asians! I wish I could meet more! I've always wanted to experience Asian culture but I didn't want to have to go to someplace like CA to do it. I don't know why more don't live in the West Palm Metro!

Cape Coral? Fort Myers? That surprises me. I wonder what the attraction is for there?
