Moving--wondering about Tallahassee
Hello Everyone
how are you? I hope everything is going well. Here's my situation....
I'm currently located in Muskegon Michigan and was looking to move to Tallahassee Florida. I'm excited about a change in my life but also at the same time I'm worried. I currently work in the healthcare field as a medical biller making around $22,000 a year. Only have an associates degree at the present time in the field of web/computer design, but currently attending classes for a BA in Business Marketing. I noticed from the data that I received from here that most of the people in Tallahassee have an BA already and seem to make over $35,000 a year(median). I know I should not base my current income on what I think I'll be making once I get to Tallahassee. But one of my friends have stated to me that I may not get the place to live and may always be in a struggle with paying bills because of the fact of "my pay" cost of living is pricey. That's one of my biggest worries. Also I was wondering are there many opportunities in Tallahassee for someone in healthcare to computer design to fitness/personal training to interior design???? Does Tallahassee have an on-line newspaper that I could subscribe too, to look at classifieds/jobs???
Well thats it for now!!!
thank you so much for your replies in advance,
MV310

Tallahassee Democrat - www.tallahassee.com - Tallahassee, FL.
This is the link to the Tallahassee newspaper. It seems to be one of the more reasonably priced cities to live in for Florida.

Tallahassee has a high sales tax at 7.5%.... but you can drive to GA in 20 minutes to save on big purchases like cars.
Home prices are actually pretty good compared to points South in Florida, though property within the city limits will be more expensive than the outlying little towns (but in my opinion, it's worth it to be in the city limits).
Rent is all over the place in terms of affordability, from ultra-cheap to ultra-expensive.
