I need a room for a couple of days, just a place to take a shower, sleep. Nothing fancy at all, very basic and we don't care what it looks like, we won't be in the room anyway.

I have found a couple for $50-$65 per night but wondering if there is something down there even cheaper for the month of October.

Cheaper than $50 a night? Honestly, a campsite with electricity & water is often more than that. The only suggestion I have is to look for rooms to rent on Craig's List, although most of them have a one week minimum.

You're going to pay $100-150/night for a basic room, even in a small mom-and-pop motel. I haven't heard of anywhere charging half that.
