The convoluted manner in which these amendments are written is utterly confusing to voters. The only two people with whom I spoke today about amendment 4 were very proud they'd voted no. When I explained to them what they'd actually voted for, one became irate. The other voted with the recommendation of the local newspaper. Neither actually understood the concept.

Between the ad campaign and the way the proposed amendment was written, it's a miracle there were as many intelligent voters as there were. But sadly, we lost that one, too.

But, it's all good....the national economy is down the tubes, but Rick Scott's going to fix everything here. Yeah, you betcha.

Sounds like you vote based on campaign ads.

Poor Florida. The ugly uncontrolled urban sprawl will continue.

I voted YES. However, I also voted for Sink and Crist.

Big money wins again. I will never understand the so-called conservatives. On the one hand, they scream "less government" and on the other, they vote down any bill that gives some power back to the people.

Not just campaign ads, but there were blurbs from a number of reputable policy folks talking about how the concept was poorly thought out and just didn't work well.

That wasn't even on a campaign ad . I do my research before voting, and if I don't know about something on the ballot, I don't vote for it.

I only saw one ad about amendment 4 and it said nothing about St Pete Beach. Plus, I had made my decision before I saw that ad anyway. Do you have a link to the ad that mentions St Pete Beach?
