I was up your way in New England and the Hudson river valley last week. Some breathtaking sunny days just past peak foliage. Morning in the 30's were ok even for long walks and it got up to around 50-55 midday which was real nice as long as the sun was out and there was not much wind.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I think it is in the Maine or Alaska forum
Hope it doesn't warm up any more than it does now during the days. I always enjoy the cooler temps.

it was in the mid high 70's yesterday for highs but in the sun felt like it was close to 90 degrees. What people up north don't realize is that 80 degrees feels a lot warmer in Fla. than it does elsewhere including the Carolinas and other southern states. The intensity of the sun makes it feel a lot hotter in Fla. Having said that the mornings have been very comfortable the last week.

What I like about Florida this time of year, is people watching. You can tell the Floridians, from the vaction people in a second. Because at the beach, the people from New York, Canada, cold places, are all in shorts, swimsuits..and the rest of us, from here, are all bundled up, looking at them like they are crazy. I used to wear shorts in North Dakota, when it "warmed" up to 50 or so.

Why does 50, seem so much colder here, than it did in North Dakota?

It's the dampness/humidity/dewpoint in the air that makes the air feel colder.

People look at my like I am nuts beecause when it is 50 degrees out in the morning, I am out there on my golf cart in short sleeves... been here 17 years, cold doesn't bother me. New England blood I guess.
