This is funny. How many people talked about how they couldn't take the Northern winters anymore for the past several months. They would go into great detail about the snow and digging out their cars. It really irritated me because most people in Florida are from Northern states. They were preaching to the choir.
Everyone has a cross to bear.
I'll take the weather that gets down into the 60s at night. There is a respite. In southwest Florida, at this time of year, and for many months, you could walk outside at midnight and you would be dripping wet.
It didn't really bother me. That was the least of my problems in Florida. But it is nice to see the snow diatribes gone.
But there is a reason why Florida really didn't take off until after air-conditioning was invented.
If it is any consolation to y'all, I gained 40 pounds since I moved to Tennessee. When I lived in Florida it was like living in a sauna. I could eat all I wanted. But I was tired all the time, from the humidity. It was like a blanket of water that descended from May to October.

I did, however, get some nice pictures. I will try and post them sometime today.

Ha ha ha... wanna know my temp right now? It's like 75 degrees, nice and breeze... a total joy.
One day w/o A/C in Florida feels like you just stepped into a corner of Hell.... it is THE worst type of heat ever! Humid heat! Yuck!

NG: If you moved, you need to change you location on CD. It's saying that is quite pleasant in Orlanduh, and I know that it is not.

By the way, for someone to steal the freon out of their air conditioner, that has to be a desperate area. I couldn't get Freon thanks to the Government, I was going to steal a tank from an AC truck but ended up using propane instead. Works well but is scary!

Thanks for another helpful post rick.
Actually, it does not have to be a bad "desperate" area to have freon thefts, you see cages around air conditioners in nice areas cause all the bums and poor people who can't afford freon go to nice areas to steal it. Thieves go to rich areas to steal, ask any cop.
Secondly, having air conditioning and the number of hours you work is not related, it is all related to a person's self-disclipline. 100 million people have air conditioning and work 40-60 hours a week with no problems.
Third, if air conditioning is for sissies, i guess 99% of the usa is sissies.
I guess that 99% of military, cops, fireman, paramedics, pro football players, and pro wrestlers are all sissies cause they have air conditioning.
tallrick, i remember you said in an earlier post that "you don't have AC cause you can't afford it"
I see the real issue here.

If I didn't have to pay over 10,000 a year in taxes I could afford air conditioning! As for the cages on air conditioners, I thought it was to prevent the thieves from stealing them for scrap metal. Any place where people steal freon has some serious issues.
