What about Port saint Lucie? No crime, fast growing, sure it may be a little bit out of the area that all of you are discussing, but just consider it. It's a very nice place!

1.Coral Springs has less crime than PSL, and Coral Springs has crime, so I guess that means that PSL has crime too. (I believe PSL was 24th safest, Coral Springs was 10th).
2. Does not have a very educated population. It's not what shes looking for. Not all around upscale enough. She COULD look into northern Palm Beach County and MArtin county, though.

Not true! Port Saint Lucie is very educated and extrememely safe! may I remind you it has been on the safest list for 7 years straight?! Get your facts straight, or don't post anything negative about this glorious city. It is home to Torrey Pines, the Mets, FAU, IRCC, and more.

There is very little middle class in this region (I think a person who has acquired wealth would rather be surrounded by middle class areas versus ghettos.) Just extreme wealth, and extreme poor, and the crime is crazy; even worse than Dade, and Broward does not even have a neighborhood that is as consistently bad as Lake Worth. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't want to be caught on Sistrunk in Lauderdale at night, but there are a lot of problems that are more exaggerated than other regions in the United States and Broward. Plus, the gangs there are crazy, and getting more and more violent every day. We don't hear much about gang warfare here in Broward (Boynton Beach Mall shootout, anyone?), but we here about yours quite a bit. Plus a member of my family had their house broken into in a guarded and gated upscale community in Boynton Beach. Sure, that can happen anywhere, but you would have to be pretty brazen to go through the guard!

Wellington is a nice place to raise a family, though.
The gang related issues plagued LA 20+ years ago, now all the sudden it's the big topic here. Don't forget that robbery in Broward a couple of weeks ago where the guy blew away the two Subway Sandwich shop robbers. Or the Broward Deputy that was killed last year when that nut case was held up in his house.

Lauderhill and Plantation and some areas off of Broward Blvd in Ft Lauderdale are bad.

A lot of areas at the Broward/Dade line are bad.

Bad areas in Dade like Little Hati, Overtown, Northside , Carol City, Opalocka, Liberty City and Cutler Ridge. Nice places, just do a Google Maps Street View of these areas

Not arguing that parts of PBC are not crap holes. Boynton Cherry Hill section and parts of Delray, especially between Swinton Ave and I-95 north and south of Atlantic Ave. Along with other some other areas.

I hate to get into an argument like this but...

Port St. Lucie city, Florida - Fact Sheet - American FactFinder
Only 17 percent have a bachelors. It is not what she is looking for. PSL is a decent place to settle, don't get me wrong, but just not for her.

She is looking into moving into what are, proportionally, Florida's most well educated cities, Parkland and Weston where a majority are college grads. 39 percent of Coral Springs over 25 is also college educated.

National Average- 27.2 %

PS, it has never been on the top 10 safest, and Weston and Parkland has a lower CD crime index in the double digits (they were not included in the Morgan-quitno report). If Weston were included in the Morgan-Quitno data, it would more likely than not have been in the top 10 for the past 5 years, and probably number 1 for a few years.

Like that Christopher Lowell guy? Lot's of work in Key West, Miami Beach and parts of West Palm, Northwood Hills is being revitalized by lot's of Christopher Lowell type guys but talk about being surrounded by the slums. 1 nice house next to 20 crap holes in a crime ridden neighborhood. Really sad, I hope they get it cleaned up but it may take a while.

Okay, okay! Coral Springs in my opinion is not as best a place to settle as Port saint Lucie. But for you to say that we in PSL are not educated is wrong and misleading! FAU and IRCC are great universities. Don't put us down like that. It's just not right.

Port Saint Lucie has NO real crime. Don't just base it on a stupid old and outdated fact sheet. VISIT Port saint Lucie. You'll probably see more police cars than car jackings.
