Hello,
My family and I have just relocated to Port Orange. I have two boys, ages 13 and 11, and so far we have not found other boys in our development around their age. We are thinking about checking out the YMCA for kid's activities during the summer. Does anyone in our town know of other places I can get my kids involved??

Default New to area as well

Hi there, I am replying to your post because I too have a son and we are new to the area. We are looking at the Y-membership as well. Did you have any luck there? I have a son 12 and a daughter 7, they are both anxious to meet some new friends. Let me know how it went for you all.

Thank you

I'm sure they will meet some others next month when school starts. But the YMCA would be a great place to start. Also, find some local moms groups to join. They usually have kids of all ages. You would be able to meet some people and even find some friends for them. Look for them on meetup.com or in the Yahoo Groups section.

The community newspaper that comes out on Friday usually has some things in there they can join. In yesterday's mail there was a special paper pull-out section. It had a whole page dedicated to activities for kids. You could find some kind of classes in there to get them into.

Default Summer Camp at SportsRock

I am opening a cheer dance and gymnastics school in Venetian Bay (very close to Port Orange). We are offering Summer Sports Camp as well as classes during the evening, if this helps and you're interested you can check out our website at www.gosportsrock.com - Hope you find what you need!
