It wouldn't suprise me if it wasn't a joke. <sigh> It's amazing how the Bible, when placed in human hands, can be used to justify any and everything. People get offended by the terms "Shiite Christian" or "Christian Taliban" but....are they THAT off-base given the extremes people go to in all religions. I know some deeply deeply Orthodox Jews in New York...those are some scary folks. My dad is Reform and he's even weary of "the loonies."

What a wonderful post. After I read that book I was physically sick. It's nice to see the other side of Christianity. Maybe it will bring me back to reality.

It is pathetic that people tried to offer advice, too.

I know people from that area and they are the most judgmental racists I have ever met, and this is coming from someone who now lives in the south.

I think the OP should stay exactly where she is.

Maybe you should go west - where you can live in isolation. I can't think of anywhere else you can live without other races. I have many Christian friends that are of other races other than white so I just don't get your post. I'm not going to get preachy but the South isn't for you.

I thought Lake Mary was highly materialistic, with people driving Hummers everywhere?...this might conflict with the OP's values if he/she follows the Bible.

Folks have Hummers all over the place here which I don't get at all...I mean I can't see doing much off-roading on I-4. Maybe out in Lake county but not in the immediate metro area. Lake Mary is an even mix for the most part. The real highly, even grossly materialistic is Windermere/Isleworth. Can you say McMansion?

To the OP:

Build yourself a time machine and travel back to 17th/18th century America. You'll fit right in.

Or if you prefer the present day, convert to Islam and move to Afghanistan. Their "values" (a word you used about five times) are spot on with yours. They may not like your white skin tho.

If you want real values move to a progressive liberal town (which are btw extremely family friendly) and let your kids think for themselves, get a dose of diversity and a decent education based on REALITY.
