What they are referring to is a town called Ave Maria, which is being "created" as a Catholic community by the owner of Domino's Pizza. It IS near an area that has been heavily populated by immigrants, that has very high crime.
Either way, the OP would hate Catholics and believe that they are going to hell, so that is not exactly what she is looking for.
Once again, she needs to stay where she is.
Thank goodness that her "beliefs" are not supported in much of our country. Good job guys, in standing against this.

Try northwest Florida Pace, Milton, Jade, or Bonifay: they are small towns with conservative view on life. Is a choice....

A bit offtopic, but concerning Ave Maria.... The funny thing about Ave Maria is that the "founders" think they can establish a town that would circumvent constitutional freedoms because it's on "private land." However, the Constitution applies to private entities performing "traditional governmental functions," and a whole helluva lotta good luck trying to keep people from "living" on your land on the basis of religious belief! The whole project is doomed to fail in practice! I would be VERY surprised if a Court would hold otherwise!

Why is it that the op was pretty straightforward about who she is, what her values are, and wanting to be with people like her, and everyone jumps on that as a negative? How is it that "real" values are progressive liberal and that there is "no such thing" as a conservative family town? Been all over the entire state of Florida and you all know this for a fact?
I second Sunricos advice about Pace and northwest Florida. It's not for everyone, but it might work for the op.
How "progressive" is it to assume that because the op wants to be with people like herself that there is something wrong with her and her family, or that her values are somehow not as good as everyone elses?
Asking for a mostly white town does not always indicate a racist. It could indicate someone who has had negative experiences with diversity and wants to retreat from that. When I was an active realtor in NJ, I showed homes in diverse neighborhoods, and often found that hispanic, eastern european and asian people who wanted "white" neighborhoods were coming from NYC and had been victims of racism by black people. When they got to the neighborhoods I showed them, it was their first glimpse at a different way of life, where racially diverse groups had common interests and community, and often their first encounter with black middle class neighbors. I had to explain to them that we were looking at houses that fit the criteria they needed - but that the area is very mixed and I could not guarantee the color or ethnicity of their neighbors, so they should look at the neighborhood and judge for themselves. Maybe the op has an outlook similiar to these folks.
So is this forum a place where everyone can come to find out about different areas for relocation - or just for everyone who does not describe themselves as a conservative, white, bible believing devout homeschooling christian with a preference for finding others like her?
Or were the responses on this thread just another excuse for negativity?
Really, there are more constructive ways to answer the ops question and possibly introduce ideas that she had not thought of about diversity and types of communities.
I think if being close to an evangelical church is important, north and west florida is probably her best bet.

Maybe people reacted to the original post the way they did because we are tired of the ignorance. We are tired of having our country torn apart by wedge issues. We are tired of the way phony religion has been used to crush the middle class the last 7 years. And we are tied of hearing about 'values' when the people yacking about them are a bunch of phony baloneys who have no clue what real Christianity is about....non what so ever. I was raised by a real Christian women, and you and the original poster don't have a clue. Jesus washed leper's feet, poor people's feet, he judged no one, and he was darked skinned from the middle east.
So when you even dare mention race and religion in the same paragraph, you are offending us to the very core. And perverting Christianity in every way. So just go away and spew your hate disguised as religion somewhere else! Go live in one of those deep red states with the highest rate of divorce in the country, the highest domestic violence rates...there you can fake being a Christian with the best of them.
Another reason for negativity? Spare me, people like you and the original poster are the very definition of negativity. And don't hide behind some experience you say you had of racism from other races. Any 3 year old learns that two wrongs don't make a right. Grow up and take you head out of your rear end.

I don't think Florida is what you are looking for. I've lived here my whole life and we are looking to relocate from Naples, fl due to huge numbers of illegal immigrants (mostly mexican and some Haitians) high insurance premiums and so much tourism. During season, locals don't even like to leave home d/t congestion on roads, in stores, and at restaurants. Also- do you love the heat? Also- would fear of hurricanes worry you? It gets to me-and I've lived here for 37 years. Definetly not Lehigh Acres- they are constantly on the news for murders, gang activity, or some type of crime. Good luck to you. The idea of moving is scary yet exciting. We are in the same but- except we are trying to get out of Florida.
