Sunrico, I asked you for places to shop, oriental markets, etc etc in a thread about a month or so ago and cannot find it. How can I find that thread again? I know you listed some places that would be very helpful to us especially if we are coming up there next week.

I have to do some research to find it. The K2 oriental store is in Marry Esther Cut-Off across from the Santa Rosa Mall. This one sell a large variety of goods for Korean and Filipinos. Due to large amount of oriental dependents in FW and Pcola many small stores are available. Is a matter of researching.

There are no sidewalks!

Other than that we really like it.

We are in a small little offshoot neighborhood off of Edgewood Drive called Palmetto Ridge. There IS NO traffic! It's very quiet and we have nice, considerate neighbors.

i am so glad that ive found this site. i currently live in metro atl and am DYING to get out of ga! ive always wanted to live in fla and was trying to get down there after graduating from college..(but i let my dad throw a guilt trip on me)

at any rate, i am planning to come down there april to see for myself.

i guess my questions/concerns are...i am a single mother of a 1 yr old and have been teaching for 10 yrs. ive had my stroke of bad luck like some
wouldnt believe. i want to move some place to start life anew.

i like what ive read so far because not only do i want to teach in a good system ...the most important thing is...i want my daughter to receive the best education.

can anyone tell me what child care is like...if i will be able to find sensible housing ..(this is a serious pay cut coming from metro atl) and...ummm..whatever else???

I can't speak to the child care issue but the school systems in Navarre are very good and parents I know praise the district highly.

Along with Holley and Navarre houses, there are also some new apartments going up in Navarre on Highway 98, if you are on a tighter budget. They do look nice.

Thanks to the downturn, there are also a few houses in my neighborhood for rent.

vespa--thank you so very much for responding. ive had a small change of plans, although i have NOT given up on fl..

last week, i had more car trouble. i know i will have to buy another vehicle in the near future. i truly can NOT afford a car note, paying rent/mortgage/daycare on the teacher salary in that area (or any in fl for that matter)

i still would LOVE to be there and im going to keep the faith and make things happen.
