Yea being redneck has nothing to do with being southern and to be blunt its not really a thing for my generation anymore because I have seen people I know go from wearing camo hats and cowboy boots to long t shirts, pants sagging, Nike kicks the whole look in one year. Sometimes people wear those clothes just to fit in with some group and are not really like that. Another friend of mine was told he was not a redneck because he didn't wear camo and guess what happened the next year. He started wearing camo and started hanging with different people just because he felt he needed to.

Actually, the majority of my reps are from the Florida forums.

Beyond northern FL, it's funny how most of the cities with the highest concentrations of FL natives (i.e., Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and St. Pete) aren't really all that Southern, at least from a cultural standpoint.

You'd think Jacksonville area would be since it's closer to Georgia, etc...

Honestly I don't see the point of this thread really because being southern is not a bad thing and also I've heard Cincinnati being called southern and other places further north as well. Each state has its hick country Podunk towns and their are no exceptions.

It is. Jax is much more southern than other cities, especially the larger FL cities.

Demographically speaking, Jacksonville is the most "Northern: and Miami is the most "Southern"

If you are asking what cities are more progressive culturally and what cities aren't:

Most Progressive to Least ....Miami , Tampa , Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, then Pensacola.

It's MY opinion.
