Question "Temporary Health Insurance"

In researching Health Insurance in Florida, I have come across this type of policy "Temporary Health Insurance."
It is not something that is available in New Jersey where I live now, so I am not familiar with how it works.
But, It seems like a really good thing for someone who has to pay their own health insurance. Which by the way - in any shape or form seems to by much less expensive in Florida.
But I just wanted to know if anyone knows about this and if it is a good thing.
Thanks so much!
