Just wanted to let all know that I am sitting here in Buffalo NY looking out the window at the falling snow. It has snowed every day for the last week. Have about a foot on the ground. The temperature is about 1 with the wind. I don't even want to go out side but need to go get groceries. This is very depressing. I wish I was in Florida going for a morning walk instead.

Not sure how there are some out there that say Winters in the Northeast are great. I probably wont be able to go for a walk outside until April. Already sick of winter!!!

You know, "the grass is always greener" type thing. We want what we don't have. We'd like to enjoy the beauty and quiet of a snowy morning - until we would have to shovel the stuff. You'd like to be in Florida until a hurricane blew in. Its all relative. People want to come here because they think its paradise. We want to leave here because even though we don't have snow, we have our share of crap.

Get your skiis out to the hills theres about a foot of the best powder i;ve seen in years.
Put your skates on,grab a hockey stick ,call up some friends and have a great afternoon on an outdoor ice rink, Got a Snowmobile? No? get one or rent, lots of fun.
Rent an ice fishing cabin on a lake,a few friends and a case of beer
Great weather to hike through the woods on snowshoes.
Winter is a whole lot more fun if you participate

People who stay inside all winter probablly won't fare any better down here. Being an active person has a lot more to do with ,than just the climate. Some of the most active people i know love to ski, snowshoe, icefish in the winter and can't wait to water ski, go hiking ect in the summer. There's a short period of time where the ice isn't thick enough to ice fish but to thick to launch the boat, that's when they go to Florida.

Not necessarily true. When it stays cloudy most days, and turns dark at 4 pm, it can still affect you, especially if you have something called seasonal affective disorder.

Besides, some of us are active in summer sports, just not for winter ones.

Dreamer, I hear ya 100%.

Im in Syracuse and the low on monday is forecast to be -15 yes thats MINUS 15 DEGREES with a high of only 10 degrees.

I hope to be heading down next month for a week to get away from this weather.

Even 30s and 40s would feel good to me as we have not been over freezing in a few weeks.
