hello all. my friend and i are trying to plan a trip to do some extended beach camping (3 months or so). we arent hippies but share the same values. we want to find a place to camp and live in simplicity and be able to live off the land as much as possible. we are in out early 20's and would like to do this sometime next year after we save enough up. any help would be great. were thinkin either florida or hawaii. thank you

Wont happen in Florida, too many people, too many cops, too many rules and regulations, i would assume Hawaii would have similar problems with that lifestyle.I would do some research on Australia.

I can only think of the state parks for beach camping.... and I'm pretty sure they don't allow 3 month stays, or people to spend much time living off the land.

I don't know where you'll find that.

I think the maximum time you're legally allowed to be camped out in the Everglades is 14 days.

I would explore different parks and spend time in each.

It's going to be tough in Florida to do the type of beach camping you are looking for. Hawaii you can do it very easily, they even have outdoor showers in some parks for campers.

i originally wanted to go back to maui...there is a beautiful spot called la peruse bay (spelling?). all of the research we have done on florida came up with nothing. thank you for the help so far. ill try posting in the hawaii section and see what we can come up with. austrailia is also an option but i heard it can be tough for americans there on extended stays
