to be quite honest, all are dangerous...and disregarding statistics, in my opinion the counites of dade, broward, and palm beach make up the most dangerous region in the country. It's already ranked as the most corrupt, and Riviera Beach is ranked the most dangerous zip code in the country. With the climbing murder rate this year, i really don't know what to expect for 2008.

I picked Dade because there is a feeling you get driving around in certain areas there that can be a scarier feeling then walking in some of the areas in those other counties.....Overtown by far is the scariest feeling place ive ever been....we didnt even stop at the stop lights when we got lost there

Yeah ..i agree.....crimes dont usually happen on the toilet in your bathroom ...they happen at stores or ATM machines or banks or any other public place....just because you havent had someone come in your room and murder your wife or steal all the money out of your pants pockets in your house doesnt mean that it is safe everywhere......you could be that unlucky person that is just getting a drink at the gas station when some masked men come in and demand money from the teller and then force you to the ground......you cant think that this kind of stuff can't happen to you.....just dont dwell on it, but it happens to new victims all the time (every single day) in any neighborhood within 2 or 3 miles of your city in Dade county

I think it's hilarious that what is by far the most dangerous county has zero votes, and what is by far the safest managed to pull 2 (one by Lauderdale954 of course). I admit though, I voted Dade.

Well, in Palm Beach County in the southern section (pretty much just Boynton Beach and a small section of Delray Beach near the downtown area) has crime.

Once you leave Delray it's a whole different story....

Why do I get the impression that you are bragging? Why do you get the impression that hitting a murder rate of 5.9 homicides per 100,000 is "the most dangerous?". That's dead on national average. Thats where we will be if Broward breaks it record. Remember that in 2003 we were 1.8 homicides per 100,000, Palm Beach County was around 4 per 100k, so of course you are on to something, but I think you need to get out more if you think this is the most dangerous region of the country, and Broward is the most dangerous section of the region. We sure as hell have some danger spots in all 3 counties (you wont catch me on Sistrunk at night (or during the day)), but I don't know what you are basing a lot of your opinions on. I really get the impression that you are trying to subtly brag about the crime problems in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County.

Recent 2006 information?

The 2007 rate I calculated for Broward (I just divided in my head, I can use the calculator and get a more accurate rate if you want)?

Or the older 2003 information? I typoed the 1.8 by the way, it was 3.8 for Broward (ranking it 168 out of 318) . West Palm Beach (meaning PBC) is 5.0 ranking it 128 back then.http://www.morganquitno.com/met03r.pdf. Now of course the murder rates are going to be much higher.

no, im not bragging about the crime..i'm just telling you how it is..as far as statistics go, they don't mean anything to me personally. I would much rather walk through ANY other city in the country then say..OVERTOWN. and yes, overall I do believe it's the most dangerous region..i never said broward was the most dangerous, i voted for broward because i think it could potentially be the next miami. I have walked through New orleans (including the notorious Magnolia Projects) and I have been through very bad sections in NEw Jersey..and I wuld rather walk through their then some of the areas around south florida (overtown, liberty city, opa locka, riviera beach)...and the per capita of a crime rate may put everyone on the same level, but it IS NOT the same. For example, Orlando is ranked more dangerous then Miami, but which city would you rather walk through?
