Would Y'all recommend moving to Melbourne,Florida? My Wife has friends their and would like to move there in the not too distant future. We would be living in an Apartment, are they resonable there? I would most likely work in a Super Target in Orlando.

That's quite a commute for a retail job. Are you a manager of a store? Not really worth it if just an area manager or department manager. There is a super target in Viera and several regular target stores in the area.

I think you could find an apartment at a reasonable price here in the area. Look at Melbourne Apartments for Rent - Melbourne, FL on ApartmentGuide.com to give you an idea.

An hour drive to work wouldn't be a problem for Me,I drive fifty minutes to work now. I'm not a manager, just an average employee. I didn't know there was a SuperTarget so close, thanks for the info!

Since your coming from Georgia, Melbourne is a reasonable and pretty nice city to move to. I've spent some time in Melbourne. My uncle actually goes to FIT there. VERY prestigious! He's getting his PhD. It's REALLY sunny in Melbourne so I would advise you to bring your sunglasses. Melbourne has basically every sprawl grocery store, restaurant, and mall you can find in any other city. What's great about Melbourne is that compared to other FL cities, it's pretty affordable. I like it there. I haven't been to the beach or anything so I couldn't tell you if it is good. But I've seen pictures and it looks great! I think it's a GREAT idea to move to Melbourne. It's a nice city and you should enjoy it! Welcome to FL!

I believe there is a Super Target on Palm Bay Rd. Just west of I-95. As you may have noticed on a map of Brevard County that Melbourne and Palm Bay have ajoining city limits.

As just a regular employee you probably will only be hired part time(15-20 hours) and at minimum wage (7.25)unless Target does transfers that keep the same pay. But even then they may adjust it down to Florida pay.

If you work in Orlando you will be putting about 150 miles on your car a day and spending 2-3 hours in your car in addition to the hours at work so it sort of defeats the reason for living on the coast(enjoying the weather, beach, etc.)

There is a regular Target on 192 in Melbourne, a Super Target in Viera, and a semi-super Target on Palm Bay Road in Palm Bay. It has more food than a regular target but doesn't have as much fresh meat, fruit, and veggies as a Super Target. There are also 3 Super Walmarts in the area.

Times are rough the last few years at Target and My Wife makes a lot more than I do. I'll be looking to get into a SuperTarget, that's for sure.

FYI, Melbourne is located in Brevard County which has it's own thread here. Going forward I would post there for insight and responses. Good luck!
