NO it is not. I have been keeping records of temps for 15 years and it's pretty normal. 2003 was actually worse this time of the year. Still it is always hot in Florida this time of year, we will have the hurricanes to cool us off. Wilma is my all-time favorite for this and for eliminating the Bischoffia tree from my parents backyard.

Sounds like you're a weather buff, too. So am I.

Although dew point and humidity also factor in to the "feels like" temp, the temps in Fla. actually appear to be very average. I checked the next five days and here is what I found.

Sat. forecast-93~~~~~Avg. temp-92

Sun. forecast-90~~~~`Avg. temp 93

Mon. forecast 90~~~~~Avg. temp 93

Tue. forecast 89~~~~~Avg. temp 93

Wed. forecast 89~~~~~Avg temp 93

Sorry, but I don't know where you live so I just randomly chose Orlando.

The temperature may have been the same over the last few years but it definately feels more humid than before.

Actually the daytime high temps have been cooler than normal around Jax.

May was exceptionally cool with temps rarely in the 90s.

It is normal for the 90s to start in April and go to mid October with a few 80s highs included.

July is the hottest month so far but even so we are getting a lot of days where it doestnt reach 90.

I think it is mainly due to a much stronger NE flow off the ocean than normal. All of May was like that.

Winds from the west are the hottest winds in the summer.

Jammie,

Sounds like we're having a cool front coming up then! It's been 95 for the past few days with a heat index of well over 100 reported out of Orlando. And that's in the shade.

By noontime I open the door and it's like opening your oven. I'm tempted to try cooking something just by leaving it outside and to heck with the grill!

Thanks a lot. My plans are to move to ocala. I live in the Caribbean, here is very hot and I don't like it. I was in Ocala last January and it was very cold. I don't like the snow but 100 degrees is too much for me.

Fortunately it doesn't stay that hot for very long at a time. But it is summer and July and August are as bad as it gets and you can expect 90ish almost every day. It was gorgeous here in May and even up into June with nice breezes.

From weather.com:

Orlando, FL Weather Facts
On average, the warmest month is July.
The highest recorded temperature was 101°F in 1998.
The average coolest month is January.
The lowest recorded temperature was 19°F in 1985.
The maximum average precipitation occurs in June.

July and August averages 92 high, 73 low.
