For those of you who sold your house?
What website can my MIL go on?
Where can she list it?
She is in foreclosure now. She paid for it to be listed on MLS, but it showed up nowhere, unless she sent me a link.
It's a very low-end property in Fort Myers. It should sell. It is in a good neighborhood.
I have no idea where to place it.
I know that some people have been successful in selling their houses. Where should she place it?
What website? She's in foreclosure.

Is she in actual foreclosure - as in, does she have a date she must move out by?
Or is she still in preforeclosure where she is beyond collections and her case file is now in the foreclosure department?
If she is early enough in the stages of foreclosure, there can be some options available to her. One might be that the bank will sell the house for her, and if she has some equity, she will receive it back, less the bank's expenses.
If she is far along in the foreclosure stages, the sale of the house might already be in place...no point in trying to list it herself/waste of her money.
She should have a caseworker assigned to her file....is your MIL in contact with her caseworker?
If she still wants to list it herself, she can look for a discount realtor who will list the home on the MLS for a flat fee. If it is on the MLS, it should show up online, such as on Realtor.com......I wonder what she paid for already? Is she sure it was for MLS and not something else?

It is in Fort Myers. She has lived in it since 1984 and she has NO equity. It is on MLS but not realtor dot com or anything else. She just dropped it $20,000, to 179,500. We will try that link. Thanks!

I have used this agency to sell several houses and lots of land.
Naples MLS Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Englewood Flat Fee MLS Just $250
It will get you in the MLS for your area. Good price too! They do not get a cut of the selling price. You have to show the house unless you put it on a lock-box which you can buy at Home Depot.

How could she have no equity in 23 years of living there? Just curious.

Thanks again for all the responses.
She bought the house for about 43,000 in 1984. She now owes $114,000. She has absolutely nothing to show for it, except for appliances. Not even a new car. Nothing. I have absolutely no idea what she did with the money.

Some time ago I was directed to FSBO, Real Estate For Sale by Owner, Homes, Houses, Property for sale by owner, and there's a special link for foreclosures on the left. I don't know how good it is among the professionals, other than I've visited it quite a bit looking for property for my dad in law. Good luck.

43,000 to 179,500 in 23 years, that's a lot of inflation, about what % per year? Could 179,000 still be overpriced?
