Buc, I think you've gone off the deep end. Please provide a link that states FL car ins will
increase 10 fold if the law passes (and we already know it will since over 80 percent of Floridians are for it).

Can you tell me of any of the 20 states who have passed medical marijuana where car insurance has been affected due to the law????

Can you tell me of any of the 20 states who have passed medical marijuana where car deadly car accidents have risen due to the law????

Can you tell me of any of the 20 states who have passed medical marijuana where there has been an increase in crime due to the law????

Has Colorado changed anything since their RECREATIONAL marijuana law went into effect

No.

They will probably update their driving laws to specify the blood level that it takes to be considered DUI specifically for pot.

FACT: Driving under the influence of marijuana – like driving under the influence of alcohol or

prescription drugs – is potentially hazardous. As a result, it is currently illegal and will

surely remain that way even if marijuana is treated like alcohol. That said, it should be

noted that no compelling evidence suggesting that marijuana is even remotely as

problematic as alcohol when it comes to individuals driving under the influence.

In particular, marijuana has not been found to contribute substantially to traffic

accidents, as alcohol undoubtedly does. Whereas alcohol use tends to produce

car-handling impairment and increase risky driving practices, marijuana use does not

produce substantial car-handling impairment and typically makes drivers more cautious.

This is probably why we hear about alcohol-related accidents all the time, but rarely hear

about accidents attributed solely to marijuana.

Ultimately, our society could better address the problems associated with people driving

while impaired by allowing law enforcement officials to stop spending time worrying about

adults simply using or possessing marijuana – a drug less harmful than alcohol – and

instead spend it looking for dangerous drivers.

Tenfold is a hyperbole, but I already provided you a statement from AAA CEO in Colorado (an expert on car and health insurance) on the effects of marijuana legalization on insurance rates. It's pretty clear.

pot heads don't care if legal or not,,,this wont change a thing, the drug will help some sick- that is fact- and if those wanting to stay high will just invent another reason,, they will eat lead pencils or something. We blew it when we let alcohol be free for all... the problem here is MONEYYYY $$$ who will control it? The pharmesuticals will now lose alot of that chunk,,, ohh the power struggles will go crazy...

I find it interesting that many people think that those that smoke marijuana are high time. That's just like saying people who drink alcohol are drunk all the time.

Many people have a drink at the end of the day or drink on the weekends. I would imagine many people who smoke pot do the same. Having a beer after work or letting loose on the weekends does not make you an alcoholic. Those who choose to smoke a joint after work or on the weekends are not pot heads... or are they?

Some more INFO for you to read and maybe understand a bit more.

1. Marijuana is highly addictive. There’s a reason marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug in the world. People can’t stop using it once they start. Proponents of legalizing pot have tried to dismiss this argument. But clinical studies have proven that people who used marijuana several times a week found it almost impossible to quit. People who tried to stop smoking it reported feeling moody, tense, anxious and unable to sleep.

But after the high comes a wave of anxiety, fear and depression. And memory can be affected permanently.

5 Reasons Why Legalizing Marijuana Stinks

That is all we need is a bunch weed heads on our roads abusing it and calling it medical.

I cannot believe that there are still people in this country that actually believe this.

If you don't like what you see in our state before you moved here why don't you go back?

PS: Are you "Anita Bryant" re incarnated from the 1970's?
Well I think not, there is more conservatives than you think .There is more Moderate Democrats as well. All this data is well and someone spent a lot of time to justify "Why Pot is not so bad after all"
Even the lady who posted yesterday and she lives in CO, has all ready stated the negative effects of pot smoking. We as society are sending our children and young adults wrong message. What if your 8 year old got a hold of your party brownies. Intentional or not that is one of many issues. In most states that could be child abuse.

We as a country have curtail and diminished those who choose to get drunk and drive. Yes there is those who do it anyway.

Liberal trends? One I will fight for my state I called home for as long as I can remember. If one does not have a base line of morals no telling where we may end up. What's next? Roman Orgies! The other issue is I see dissenting points of view disappearing from this forum. That is troubling as well.

Medical use, weed, no question for the very ill.

The reason why most people are against is it is consider a gate way drug, even though your data says other wise. Folks have fast forward 40 yrs. and the idea that smoking and having a stoned generation is not attractive.

Let's think this thru?
