Default Florida has more pain clinics than McDonald's

TAMPA - The illegal abuse of prescription drugs is Florida’s “greatest public health threat”, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The agency reports that seven people die in Florida every day due to prescription drug abuse.
One of the biggest problems, according to law enforcement, is the number of “pill mills”: clinics where doctors prescribe pain medications to people without medical necessity.

Can I ask why you are digging up all this crap and publishing it in the Tampa forum?

What do you hope to achieve?

FARS Encyclopedia: States - Crashes and All Victims

Florida also has the third highest number of fatalities due to auto crashes. Number 3 out of 50 states, behind Texas and California, states that are MUCH lager.
That is due to the high number of auto crashes.

Though I agree that some are illegitimate there are indeed a large number of people here who are genuinely in pain and in need of care as well as elderly as Algia stated.

Remember my thread about the good things? I got something like 5,6 replies....it sure seems the bad stuff is more popular in America, cause it is not just the Tampa board....I've seen it on a lot of Cd boards in my re-search.

To me it is unclear why some doctors just write presciptions...I know a person and only one person in the family has health insurance and is providing pills for the rest of the family. they share everything and antibiotics are given so many times....makes me wonder how much pay back the doctor is getting for writing all these medications.

I'm from Southern Ohio where it is commonly known that Florida is the main source of "Hillbilly Herion" (Oxycontin). (I am moving to Clearwater later this month.)

Here are some links for those who are truly interested in pain pill addiction in the poorest, more rural areas of the country fed largely by Florida clinics. Until you have seen it, it's hard to imagine how severe the problem is.

This is my home county where I was raised and my family lives.

I know that Florida has a problem with this but why would you say that "more rural areas of the country fed largely by Florida clinics.", when the article talks about Ohio clinics having cars lined up with KY and WV plates.
That seems to tell me that Ohio clinic are the place to go in that area of the country.
