I'm in my 20's so I would like for the town or city to have a lively feel, but not too lively. In close proximity to a beach as well as a shopping mall. Also, a low crime rate because I don't want to have to worry about my safety as I am traveling alone. Anyone got anything? I'd be leaving next week around the 10th or 11th so I need to get my plans together asap. I'm from Canada and I cannot stand the cold winter any longer, I'm in need some warmth and sun.

Definitely Key West. It's like no other place. It's both lively and laidback, for the most part quite safe, has a nice beach and good shopping. It's also a place where you won't need a car, which compensates for the higher airfares. The older/historic areas where all the activities are is very walkable. To experience the "real Key West", stay at one of the many nice guesthouses.

I am 22 years old and will be graduating school in September and wanted to take a road trip to Flordia. Where is the best spot to visit that have low rates on hotels, very close to the beach and shopping?

September is a good time to visit, later in the month is probably best since it tends to be drier/less rainy. Check out Madeira Beach/Treasure Island on the west coast (near Tampa/St Pete) as they have nice beaches, lots of reasonable hotel choices, plenty to do, lots of shopping nearby and are pretty safe in terms of traveling alone.
