Teaching jobs are going to be cut left and right and they are already weakening the voter-mandated class size amendment. Some districts are going to be over $100 million short for next year. Also, he would be on the merit pay plan which holds teachers accountable for other peoples actions instead of their own. The plan suggests that students not demonstrate some personal responsibility and actually learn/study what their teacher delivers during the 48 minutes per day they see the student, but rather that it is the teacher's fault if you do not preform. Perhaps those in favor of merit pay should look at the private sector they claim to know so much about and realize that teachers cannot fire, demote, or transfer students who sit there and say, "I just don't care and I'm not doing my work." And if you think they don't say that, feel free to apply to your local school district.
