Hi there,

I live in Los Angeles area and likely to move to Florida in 6months or so.

I've Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale in mind.

I'm looking for

1. Good school district 10/10. I've elementary school kids.
2. Good IT jobs. I'm in software
3. I prefer most humid place as i wanna sweat a lot. Not a 100% gym guy.
4. Good and safe place to raise family.
5. New homes available for the price range of 200 - 400K.

Please advice.

Check out the southside of Jacksonville in the Julington Creek area. It has excellent public schools (10 out of 10) that aren't charter or magnet schools, plenty of IT opportunity in the area, the humidity you're looking for, is in a safe family area and plenty of homes in your price range. The average three to four bedroom home runs around $100 a square foot and most are in the 2800-3000 square foot range, with some larger. out of the 3 you picked forget Tampa. Ft. Lauderdale is a good choice & might remind you of LA as it is in a cosmopolitan metro area. Jacksonville is a large city but doesn't look it & is very conservative compared to the rest of the state's metro.
