My Liberty Mutual bill just came. I live in Pinellas County. The rate has more than doubled going from $1,700 to $3,700. They value the structure at $319,000. I am in a flood zone, but I am paying another insurer for flood insurance.
I have been trying to get online quotes and got this email:
Thank you for using NetQuote's online Insurance Quote service. Currently, we do not have agents in your zip code. NetQuote is continuously striving to improve our service and are currently working on adding agents in your area.
When I try other websites, I get an error message that says I have already applied for a NetQuote and I am not eligible to reapply for 30 days. Anyone else have this problem?

also what i found out, is if you do not have citizens you pay extra for reinsurance, what the insurance company buys to pay out money. also now they do a cost estamator baised on what it would cost to rebuilt your house.
so if your house would only sell for 250,00 and to rebuild is 325000 that is what you need. You also don't get a choice.

I am facing a cancellation with my homeowners insurance. Eight years ago,it was $651.00 now the quotes are $4232.00. I live in Seminole, FL, and have never had any claims. I understand that the location has a lot to do with the premiums. Although, we haven't had a hurricane for the past 28 years. I did read that Katrina victims are getting housing until 2008, child care and all kinds of incentives to get jobs. I wonder who is really paying for that??????

Citizens
First they send me a bill for $4,500.......got house reappraised, increased deductable, and got it down to $2,200, then another letter down to $1,700
today received another letter down to $1,300, getting a refund of $400.00
Way to go Citizens.
Can't understand this insurance business, house next door is a sinkhole house
people bought it and got insurance on it, I'm told because I live next door
I can only go with Citizens, who after Sept. will not have sinkhole insurance
but you will have to request it and pay for it and then the only coverage you have is if the whole house goes down a hole, no coverage for cracks,
windows unlevel or partial sinkholes. So damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Wow, that is great. With Citizens do you have to pay for HO yearly or make monthly payments?
